I pass by jurong east station everyday on the way to work. And as the train pulls into the platform, I’m always struck by the army of workers seemingly doing roll call at the construction site next to Jem.
There must be hundreds of them, in their yellow helmets and black boots. Awaiting instructions from their foremen to begin work. And It’s amazing how they turn concrete structures into elegant glass buildings where millions of dollars are transacted within.
And these workers will go home when their job is done. Doubt many will become one of the patrons of what they’ve built.
