6/7/11 Checked out really early. Slept on the bus on the way to Shanghai airport. Left my luggage at the bag deposit area. Took the Maglev to Shanghai. Went to Yuyuan, got my Nanxiang xiaolongbao (which was alright, but so cheap and so many!) Had a last cup of red bean pearl milk tea. Tried…… Continue reading Leaving Shanghai
Visited Compassion for Migrant Children and then Control Risk Group. To get to the former, we had to walk through a large market that really reminded me of Singapore. The latter was really boring and even after talking to them, I don’t really have a clear picture of what they do. Went to take a…… Continue reading CMC and CRG
Went to M50, the place where one could find art galleries selling works done by Chinese artists. Would have loved to spend more time wandering about the many small galleries, but some people in our group were not as interested. Weather today was insane. Officially, it was about 37 degree celsius but I’m sure at…… Continue reading Shanghai through tourist eyes

A very informative session, of which I learnt alot about the struggles that non-mainland Chinese had in working in Shanghai. Mr Barboza very kindly answered the many questions…… Continue reading David Barboza, Metersbomwe, KTV
27/6/11 Went to SPD Bank. Had lunch at SPD Bank. They served us KFC, much to my horror. In the past year, I only have had KFC one other time. Notes from SPD Bank: The opening up of China to trade AND the WTO were cited as reasons for China’s economic growth. China lacks energy…… Continue reading SPD Bank, SDE, Jiaotong Uni
